Although I am married to my work, Walter and I are engaged to be married as soon as the war is over. Walter and I are keeping Alfie, of course, and are going to be living in Munich, where many of our family and friends reside. The date for the wedding has not been set, but invitations will be mailed and posted as soon as we know.
How we met: As Elisabeth and several of our friends know, Walter and I met when we were both young children in the Hitler Jugend and the Bund Deutscher Mädel. He and I often played after our meetings with the other children and our bond has grown since then. Both of us are still actively supporting Germany and Hitler and hope to have a wonderful and beautiful wedding as soon as the war is finished.

The Big Question (Her Side): Walter and I were walking down the main street in Munich. We had just passed the little ice cream parlor on the corner as we talked and joked how we customarily do. We sat on the bench just outside and he told me to wait a moment while he went to the flower vendor to by me a single rose. I smiled at his sweet and caring nature and turned to admire the city of Munich that we both grew up in. Walter said my name to get my attention and when I turned around, there he was, on one knee, rose and ring in hand. He nervously asked me to marry him when I tearfully and happily nodded my head too excited and shocked to speak. We then went inside the ice cream parlor to celebrate where Walter had invited some of our dearest friends and family.

The Proposal (His Side): Emma and I were walking down the main street in Munich. I was incredibly nervous but hoped Emma would not be able to tell. We laughed and talked as we regularly do on our afternoon walks but today was special. On that sunny, blue sky but partly cloudy day, I was going to ask Emma for her hand in marriage. She and I had been together since we were children and I could not imagine a more beautiful and perfect woman for me. Her drive and passion completely took me over when I was just an adolescent and now, having dated for four long and amazing years, I was ready to propose. I had already told our closest friends and family about the plans and asked them all to meet at the ice cream parlor at the corner to celebrate the occasion after I asked. I had no doubt she would say yes. She was my best friend and the one I told everything to. We sat at the bench just around the corner and I told her to wait as went to go buy a single rose from the flower vendor across the lane. Emma always loved these intimate gestures and knew by the time I would get back, although it would take but a few moments, she would be off in her own little world looking at the scenery and thinking of new ideas for the photos she always takes. I returned, got down on one knee, Single rose and ring in hand, and asked her to marry me. She knew everything I thought of her and how much I cared for her so there was no need for a lengthy speech at this time. She excitedly covered her mouth in amazement and nodded her head furiously and we hugged. We then went to the ice cream parlor to celebrate and I cannot wait to marry the girl of my dreams.
